North Greece Poster Contest Congratulates Our 9th and 10th State Winner in 8 Years:

Each year the North Greece Fire District runs a fire safety poster contest with all the schools in the fire district. This contest generates around 1000 posters annually to be judged with a new fire safety message each year. In 2008, the theme was “Prevent Home Fires!” Like all contests, there are rules that apply. The posters are judged in three groups based on grade levels. Three winners per age group win prizes that include a $50.00 U.S. savings bond for 3rd place, a $25.00 Toys R us gift card and a $50.00 U.S. savings bond for 2nd place, and a $50.00 Toys r us gift card and a $100.00 U.S. savings bond for 1st place. The nine winners along with their families gather for a special awards luncheon where additional gifts and keep sakes are given. Honorable mentions are given for each group as well. All winning posters are sent to compete at the state level.

The North Greece Fire District is proud to announce that Emma and Liam, both from St. Lawrence School in Greece have each won at the state level.
