NGFD Participates in Annual Groundhog Day Festival:

The North Greece Fire District participated in the 6th annual Groundhog Day Festival held this year on February 2nd at the Greece Town Hall campus on Long Pond Road. The event was sponsored by the Greece Chamber of Commerce Erie Canal Committee in conjunction with the Town of Greece. A full crew responded with Quint 270, handing out coloring books, pencils, and allowing children (and adults) to climb aboard the truck! The ladder was raised at one point and two firefighters climbed to the top, much to the amazement of the many onlookers.

It was estimated that 1100 people attended the event which included dog sled demonstrations, a police dog demonstration, wacky games, a word scramble and coloring contest, as well as many choices of food and drinks. The temperature was a bit chilly but the spirits were warm as evidenced by the smiles of the youngsters when they came over to visit the Quint. This is the first time that this event was held in our fire district. We hope that it remains here for a long time!
